YardCraft warehouse exterior

How we got here

YardCraft started in mid-2019 when two of us tried to buy a set of outdoor chairs in Mombasa and could not find anything between flimsy plastic and overpriced imports with no warranty. We figured other people were having the same problem, so we pooled some money and ordered a container of garden furniture from an overseas supplier.

We sold out in three weeks, working from a rented shipping container near the port. The next order was bigger and included folding tables. By 2020 we had added lawn mowers and sprinkler systems because customers kept asking. We moved into a proper warehouse on Abdel Nasser Road in early 2021.

The team is still small. Four people. We answer the phone, pack orders, write the blog posts, and drive deliveries ourselves. We are not a large operation and do not pretend to be. What we are is a group of people who know the products because we use them at home.

What we actually do

We sell garden furniture (chairs, tables, sun loungers), garden equipment (petrol and push mowers, line trimmers), irrigation gear (sprinkler systems, drip kits, hose fittings), and outdoor grills (charcoal and gas). Everything is priced in KES with VAT and duties included.

We stock brands we trust: Honda and Makita for power equipment, Gardena for irrigation, Weber and Tramontina for grills, Kettler for furniture. If something breaks under warranty, we handle the claim locally so you do not have to deal with an overseas manufacturer yourself.

Orders ship from Mombasa. Same day or next day if you are local. Three to seven days for Nairobi and upcountry. Older customers or people who do not want to order online can call us and we walk them through it over the phone. We have been doing that since day one and it is still a large part of how we sell.
